Students will have more time to hunt for textbook bargains this year under a new federal law that took effect this month.
Colleges must now release required text lists at the time of registration, rather than a week before classes start. That should give students more time to order used books on Amazon.com, or rent them through Chegg.com. Many college bookstores are also offering students the option to rent.
